Annunciate condizioni meteo ottimali per la Green Fondo Paolo Bettini – Vittoria – La Geotermia

 

Pomarance (Pisa), 10 aprile 2015 – Manca pochissimo, Pomarance stà aspettando la tribù dei granfondisti che a partire da domani inizierà a invadere con le sue biciclette la cittadina toscana per prendere parte, domenica 12 aprile, alla XVIII Green Fondo Paolo Bettini – Vittoria – La Geotermia.

La corsa prenderà il via alle ore 9.30 da Piazza Sant’Anna. Tre i percorsi disponibili la Granfondo di km 133, la Medio Fondo di km 92 e il percorso cicloturistico aperto a tutti di km 70. Percorsi rinnovati che si tingono di rosa per portare gli appassionati a pedalare sulle stesse strade che tra circa un mese saranno toccate dal passaggio del Giro d’Italia.

 

“La notizia più bella di queste ore è che domenica, e per tutto il week-end, le previsioni meteo mettono sole e temperature primaverili. Questo è un aspetto fondamentale per la buona riuscita dell’evento” dice Maurizio Maggi che è a capo del comitato organizzatore dell’ASD Velo Etruria Pomarance. “Il nostro staff ha dato il massimo. Abbiamo curato ogni particolare cercando di aumentare i servizi e migliorare ancora di più la logistica e ogni dettaglio: dai parcheggi, alle docce, passando per il pacco gara fino al pranzo finale con la festa del dopo gara. Siamo contenti di come stanno andando le iscrizioni oltre al pubblico toscano abbiamo gruppi da tutta Italia e anche provenienti da molte nazioni straniere. Avremo quasi 150 volontari sul percorso per garantire la massima sicurezza e allestire i punti di ristoro, inoltre ci saranno 4 dottori e 6 ambulanze pronte a intervenire, sperando che non ce ne sia bisogno.”

 

In griglia, in prima fila, pronto a prendere il via con i concorrenti ci sarà anche il due volte campione del mondo e oro olimpico Paolo Bettini che come sempre vuole onorare la sua corsa. “Questa non è solo una gara ma una festa, un’occasione per stare tutti assieme per una giornata in allegria all’insegna della bicicletta” dice Paolo Bettini. “Ringrazio gli amici del comitato organizzatore della ASD Velo Etruria Pomarance che quest’anno si sono davvero superati facendo un grande lavoro.”

 

A Pomarance infatti dopo la gara verrà offerto a tutti i presenti, concorrenti e non, un gustosissimo pranzo a base di cinghiale. “Questa per noi è una tradizione. La Green Fondo non è solo gara ma è un evento di promozione del nostro territorio” continua a spiegare Maurizio Maggi. “Si viene qui a Pomarance per pedalare, trascorrere un week-end con la famiglia in agriturismo, scoprire l’enogastronomia del territorio visitare i musei con la storia e la cultura del nostro paese e delle nostre genti.”

 

Si ricorda che le iscrizioni sono ancora aperte. Da venerdì 10 aprile il costo è di Euro 40.00. Sarà possibile iscriversi anche il sabato e la mattina della gara.

THE SUN WILL BE SHINING IN POMARANCE ON SUNDAY!

 

Great weather forecast for the Green Fondo Paolo Bettini – Vittoria – La Geotermia

 

Pomarance (Pisa), 10 April, 2015 – With just a few days to go, starting tomorrow Pomarance will be expecting the tribe of granfondo riders, who will begin an invasion by bicycle of this little Tuscan town to take part in the XVIII Green Fondo Paolo Bettini – Vittoria – La Geotermia race that takes place on Sunday, April 12th.

The race will set off from Piazza Sant’Anna at 9:30 a.m. There are three routes to choose from: the 133-k Granfondo, the 92 k Medio Fondo and the cycling tourist route that is open to everyone and covers 70 k. The routes have been updated and will be tinged in pink so cycling fans can ride along the same roads which will be travelled by the Giro d’Italia about a month later.

 

“The latest good news is that the weather forecast calls for sun and spring temperatures for this Sunday and all weekend long. This is an essential aspect for the success of the event,” says Maurizio Maggi, who heads the ASD Velo Etruria Pomarance Organizing Committee. “Our staff has given it everything they’ve got. We’ve paid close attention to every detail and tried to increase services and further improve every aspect of the logistics: from parking to showers to the race package to the final lunch and party after the race. We are happy with how registrations are going. In addition to the Tuscan crowd we have groups from all over Italy and also from several foreign countries. We will have almost 150 volunteers on the route to guarantee maximum safety and set up refreshment areas. There will also be 4 doctors and 6 ambulances on hand ready to intervene, in the hope that they won’t be needed.”

 

As always, two time World Champion and Olympic gold medallist Paolo Bettini wants to honour this race, so he will be on the first line of the starting grid, ready to take to the race with all the other participants. “This is not just a race, it’s also like a party, a chance to spend a day together having fun and enjoying bicycles,” says Paolo Bettini. “I’d like to thank all my friends on the ASD Velo Etruria Pomarance organizing committee, who have really done an amazing job this year.”

 

In fact, after the race in Pomarance, everyone present, competitors or not, will be offered a delicious lunch based on boar meat. “This is a tradition for us. The Green Fondo is not just about the race, but it’s an event that promotes our territory,” continues Maurizio Maggi. “People come to Pomarance to pedal, spend a nice weekend with the family on a working farm, discover the territory’s wine and food and visit the museums that contain the history and culture of our country and our people.”
