LAMPRE-MERIDA

Lo staff tecnico della LAMPRE-MERIDA ha selezionato i 9 corridori che prenderanno parte all’edizione 2015 della Vuelta a Espana (22 agosto-13 settembre).

 

Questi i nomi dei 9 ciclisti che sabato saranno al via da Puerto Banùs:

– Mattia Cattaneo: 24 anni, Italia, esordio nella Vuelta, passista scalatore.

– Valerio Conti: 22 anni, Italia, 1 partecipazione alla Vuelta, scalatore.

– Kristijan Durasek: 28 anni, Croazia, esordio nella Vuelta, scalatore.

– Tsgabu Grmay Gebremaryam: 23 anni, Etiopia, esordio nella Vuelta, scalatore.

– Ilia Koshevoy: 24 anni, Bielorussia, esordio nella Vuelta, passista scalatore.

– Przemyslaw Niemiec: 35 anni, Polonia, 3 partecipazioni alla Vuelta, 1 vittoria di tappa alla Vuelta, scalatore.

– Nelson Oliveira: 26 anni, Portogallo, 1 partecipazione alla Vuelta, campione portoghese a cronometro, passista.

– Rubèn Plaza Molina: 35 anni, Spagna, 3 partecipazioni alla Vuelta, 1 vittoria di tappa alla Vuelta, passista scalatore.

– Maximiliano Richeze: 32 anni, Argentina, 2 partecipazioni alla Vuelta, velocista.

 

Nella LAMPRE-MERIDA saranno rappresentate ben 8 nazioni differenti (Argentina, Bielorussia, Croazia, Etiopia, Italia, Polonia, Portogallo e Spagna) e 3 continenti (Africa, Europa e Sud America).

L’età media della squadra sarà di poco superiore ai 27 anni.

 

La squadra sarà diretta dai tecnici Orlando Maini e Bruno Vicino.

Lo staff operativo sarà composto dai dottori Michele De Grandi e Matteo Beltemacchi, dai massaggiatori Capelli, Chiodini, Del Gallo, Lima, Napolitano, Redaelli, dai meccanici Coelho, Pengo e Romanò e dall’autista Bozzolo.

 

“Sarà per noi importante avere la mentalità giusta nell’affrontare giorno per giorno, tappa per tappa, questa Vuelta: dobbiamo avere ben presente che la nostra priorità è animare la gara e cercare di avere un animo battagliero – ha spiegato il ds Maini – Corridori giovani e pieni di entusiasmo come Conti, Grmay e Koshevoy si troveranno certamente a loro agio nell’interpretare questa impostazione di gara, così come Durasek e Cattaneo potranno sorprendere nelle tappe di montagna.

Per la classifica generale, abbiamo dovuto rinunciare a Valls, frenato da problemi fisici, e vedremo le risposte di Niemiec dopo che nei giorni scorsi è incappato in un incidente in allenamento: le prime frazioni di montagna ci consentiranno di fare il punto della situazione.

Oliveira e Plaza hanno dimostrato la loro grande affidabilità, sono valori aggiunti per la squadra, considerando anche che lo spagnolo in carriera ha vinto tappe al Tour e alla Vuelta, corsa nella quale ha colto anche un 5° posto in classifica generale.

Per le volate, ci affideremo a Richeze: Maximiliano ha sfiorato la vittoria di tappa due anni fa, proverà a chiudere un conto aperto.

E’ interessante sottolineare l’internazionalità della nostra formazione, con corridori da ben otto Paesi differenti, in rappresentanza di tre continenti: sentiremo il caldo supporto di tanti sostenitori sparsi per il mondo”.

 

 

 

The technical staff of Team LAMPRE-MERIDA selected 9 cyclists who’ll participate in the 2015 edition of the Vuelta a Espana (22 August-13 September).

 

These are the names of the 9 riders who’ll be at the start from Puerto Banùs:

– Mattia Cattaneo: 24 years old, Italy, first appearance the Vuelta, climber rouleur.

– Valerio Conti: 22 years old, Italy, 1 cap in the Tour de France, climber.

– Nelson Oliveira: 26 years old, Portugal, 1 cap in the Vuelta, rouleur.

– Ruben Plaza Molina: 35 years old, Spain, 3 caps in the Vuelta, climber rouleur.

– Maximiliano Richeze: 32 years old, Argentina, 2 caps in the Vuelta, sprinter.

 

The cyclists from Team LAMPRE-MERIDA will represent 8 different Nations (Argentina, Belarus, Croatia, Ethiopia, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain) and 3 Continents (Africa, Europe and South America).

The average age is 27 years.

 

The team will be directed by Orlando Maini and Bruno Vicino.

In the operative staff there will be the doctors Michele De Grandi and Matteo Beltemacchi, the masseurs Capelli, Chiodini, Del Gallo, Lima, Napolitano and Redaelli, the mechanics Baron, Bortoluzzo, Coelho and Pengo and the driver Bozzolo.

 

“It will be fundamental for us to have a good attitude in approaching each stage of the Vuelta: our task is to battle each day – sport director Maini explained – Conti, Grmay and Koshevoy are young and full of energies so they’ll be good performer in the attacks and Durasek and Cattaneo will be good resources on the more demanding stages.

For what concerns the general classification, we had to renounce to Valls, who’s facing some health problems, and we’ll evaluate the condition of Niemiec, who got involved in the past week in a crash while training: the first mountains stages will be an important test.

Oliveira and Plaza are important values for the team, since they demonstrated their qualities in the great tours.

Richeze will be our captain for the sprints and he’ll try to reach the top result he missed two years ago.

The team will be international, with 8 different nations represented: that means we’ll have many fans all around the world”.
