TOUR DU LIMOUSIN

Un trionfo al cardiopalma per Sonny Colbrelli che grazie ai secondi conquistati durante l’ultima tappa (Vienne – Limoges di 164,7km) e alla somma dei migliori piazzamenti ha vinto il 48° Tour du Limousin, togliendo all’ultimo la maglia gialla allo spagnolo Jesus Herrada (Movistar).

 

L’eccezionale successo è stato frutto di un ottimo lavoro di tutta la Bardiani – CSF, che prima ha aiutato Colbrelli a vincere lo sprint intermedio posto dopo 18km dal via, guadagnando un primo decisivo secondo e poi a pilotarlo nella volata finale, dove ha conquistato il 2° posto più i sei secondi d’abbuono, fondamentali per appaiare in vetta lo spagnolo Herrada e poi scalzarlo per la somma dei migliori piazzamenti.

 

Oltre alla classifica generale finale Colbrelli ha vinto anche quella di migliori giovane, succedendo al compagno di squadra Manuel Bongiorno primo nel 2014.

Sonny Colbrelli:”Ci speravo di poter capovolgere la classifica generale e vincere il Tour du Limousin. Ieri ero sette secondi dietro a Herrada ma credevo nella rimonta. Sono al settimo cielo per questo successo, del quale ringrazio tutti i miei compagni e il DS Mirko Rossato che fin dal primo giorno ci ha spronato per raggiungerlo, guidandoci nel migliore dei modi. Oggi è stata molto dura perché tutti sapevano che ero il favorito e non è stato facile gestire la corsa. Dopo aver preso il secondo d’abbuono, ci siamo concentrati sulla volata finale. Ho chiuso secondo dietro Lammertink ma l’importante era prendere abbastanza secondi per raggiungere Herrada”.

 

Mirko Rossato:”Sonny è stato eccezionale e con lui tutta la squadra. Ero certo che c’era lo spazio per recuperare su Herrada e noi ci siamo riusciti. Quando i nostri ragazzi corrono così concentrati e uniti, riescono a giocarsela ad armi pari con tutti anche con le più forti squadre World Tour. Mi auguro che questa vittoria sia fonte di grande motivazione per il finale di stagione e che aiuti Colbrelli a conquistare una maglia azzurra per i Mondiali su strada di Richmond”.     

 

 

COLBRELLI WINS THE 48TH TOUR DU LIMOUSIN!

 

 

A thrilling triumph for Sonny Colbrelli that thanks to the seconds achieved in the last stage (Vienne – Limoges of 164.7km), took the overall victory of the 48th Tour du Limousin, preceding for the sum of the best placings the spanish Jesus Herrada (Movistar), leader of the race this morning.

 

 

The outstading success was conquered together the superb work by the whole Bardiani – CSF that led out Colbrelli after 18km to win the first intermediate sprint, getting a first one second and then take the 2nd place in the final bunch sprint. A placement that did gain new six seconds which brought Colbrelli at the same time of Herrada but due to the best placings he won the general classification, wearing the last and decisive yellow jersey.

 

Alongside the overall victory Colbrelli has conquered the white jersey as best young rider, following the teammate Manuel Bongiorno first in 2014.

It’s a fantastic emotion win the race and I have to say thanks to my teammates and the sport director Mirko Rossato who believed in this success since the first day and led us in the best way. Today was hard because everyone knew I was the fastest rider and also a big contender for the overall victory. So with my team we managed the race for much part of the day. I finished second the final sprint but the most important thing was to take enough seconds to arrive Herrada as happened”.
