UAE ABU DHABI

 Ha preso ufficialmente il via il cammino del team UAE, la prima squadra World Tour degli Emirati Arabi Uniti.

 

Il varo della compagine è stato sancito da una conferenza stampa tenutasi oggi ad Abu Dhabi presso il St Regis Hotel nella Nations Tower.

La squadra ha mostrato per la prima volta la divisa da gara prodotta da Champion System e le bici Colnago C60 in dotazione agli atleti del team.

 

Sono stati illustrati gli obiettivi di un progetto ad ampio respiro volto alla promozione della pratica ciclistica e di uno stile di vita salutare e al rafforzamento della posizione dell’emirato come capitale sportiva globale e come fulcro turistico.

 

Presente alla conferenza stampa una rappresentanza di spicco del team, formata da cinque corridori (Rui Costa, Louis Meintjes, Filippo Ganna, Matej Mohoric e Andrea Guardini) e dai dirigenti Giuseppe Saronni e Carlo Saronni.

In più, il Team UAE ha annunciato l’imminente ingaggio di Yousef Mirza, anch’egli presente all’evento e destinato a diventare nel 2017 il primo ciclista degli Emirati Arabi Uniti a militare in una formazione World Tour.

 

E’ stato Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, futuro presidente del team, a tratteggiare i dettagli dell’operazione: “Siamo davvero contenti ed entusiasti di essere lo sponsor principale di una formazione storica e simbolo di talento ciclistico.

 

Confidiamo di poter lavorare assieme per molti anni, vincere assieme e ispirare assieme nuove generazioni di ciclisti negli Emirati Arabi Uniti e non solo.

 

Una vita e un comportamento fortemente positivi, uniti allo sport e allo spirito competitivo sono la chiave per una mente chiara e uno stile di vita sano, qui negli Emirati vorremmo promuovere questi valori positivi tra la cittadinanza e in tutto il mondo”.

 

Giuseppe Saronni, general manager della squadra, ha sottolineato quanto segue: “E’ davvero suggestivo poter dare il via a un nuovo capitolo del team in un contesto così affascinante, potendo contare su persone che ci hanno trasmesso sentimenti di grande passione per il ciclismo.

 

Ringraziamo il Signor Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri e il suo gruppo di collaboratori per l’impegno profuso nei confronti del nostro gruppo sportivo, daremo tutti il massimo per riuscire, tramite la nostra attività ciclistica, a offrire soddisfazioni.

The first pedal strokes of the team UAE, the first World Tour team of the United Arab Emirates, were taken.

 

The kick-off of the team took place today in a press conference at the St. Regis Hotel in Nations Tower in Abu Dhabi. Team unveiled its 2017 team kit from Champion System as well as the team bike, the Colnago C60.

 

While this is a tradition for such events, most notably, Team UAE also explained many of the ideas and concepts to promote and inspire cycling and a healthy lifestyle in the UAE and to reinforce the UAE’s position as a gllobal sporting capital and tourism hub, were presented.

 

The press conference was attended by five of the team’s riders (Rui Costa, Louis Meintjes, Filippo Ganna, Matej Mohoric and Andrea Guardini) and the managers Giuseppe Saronni e Carlo Saronni.

Team UAE also announced that it would be signing Yousef Mirza, the first Emirati rider on a World Tour team for the 2017 season.

 

Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, future president of the team, outlined the details of the project: “We are very pleased and excited to be the main sponsor of such a talented and historic team. We look forward to many years of working together, winning together and inspiring together a new generation of cyclists in the UAE and beyond.

A strong positive attitude and life along with strong competition and sport are key to a healthy mind and lifestyle and we here in the Emirates want to promote such positive values in our locals and citiziens and indeed around the world”.

 

Giuseppe Saronni, general manager of the team, pointed out that: “A new chapter of the team’s cycling path begins today here in Abu Dhabi and on behalf of all the team’s member I can assure that we’re excited and glad to be able to rely on people who clearly inspired us with their passion and devotion to cycling.

 

We thank Mr Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri and his colleagues for their commitment to our team, we’ll do our best to succeed both in the competitions and here in Abu Dhabi.
