WHO WILL ROLL ON FULL CUSTOM MONOCOQUE BIKES IN 2019? EXEPT AND DAMIANO CUNEGO

We are proud to announce our partnership with Damiano Cunego, one of the few riders who has both Grand Tour and Monument wins under his belt. Cunego achieved success in the Giro d’Italia, Amstel Gold Race, and Il Lombardia, as well as earned the white jersey (awarded to the best young rider) in the Tour de France. Cunego, riding on various bikes for some of cycling’s greatest teams, will finally get his made-to-measure custom monocoque bike in 2019.

Cunego will also counsel our engineering team with insights he gathered as a member of the pro peloton in order to further define performance metrics for our frames, as well as to continue to improve upon our EXEPT riding styles. His valuable experience gained from riding the classics to climbing the highest mountain passes in France, Italy, and Spain will give us a boost not only to make the best-in-class custom bikes, but also to compete with the best performance bikes out there.

Cunego’s EXEPT bike is in production. It will be ceremonially handed over to him at our Finale Ligure headquarters on February 23, which is also the day before he will ride it for the first time in the Gran Fondo Laigueglia. No adjustments will be needed since our bikes fit from the first pedal stroke — race-ready from day 1. Cunego was free to choose what he wanted from our lineup; he went for a Classic chassis in Race riding style, painted with a semi gloss and flip-flop finish. More details about his personal bike fit, his spec choices, as well as his first ride will follow at the moment of his bike presentation.

EXEPT color program

The first white semi-gloss and nardo gray bikes have landed and are available for order. In combination with carbon-black, each of these three base colors can be combined with any of our EXEPT colors. We believe that less is more and, instead of offering 200 odd color combinations, we spent our time carefully selecting three base colors and seven color options to guarantee that each and every bike will look stunning.

We proudly announce the immediate availability of SRAM Red eTap AXS as an option on all our complete bikes. EXEPT is one of only a few brands that made sure from the day of its release, that each custom ride could be configured with the new wireless groupset.
