La Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè ha raggiunto l’accordo con Vincenzo Albanese, Mirco Maestri e Alessandro Tonelli per il rinnovo del contratto in vista della prossima stagione, chiudendo così l’organico a quota venti corridori.
Per Albanese il 2020 sarà il quarto anno con il #GreenTeam. Benché ancora giovane (23 anni da compiere a novembre), vanta già un’apparizione al Giro d’Italia e un bagaglio di esperienza invidiabile per la sua età.
Per Maestri sarà invece il quinto anno con la famiglia Reverberi, a cui ha regalato tre vittorie (tappa e classifica finale al Tour of Rhodes nel 2018 più una tappa al Tour of China ad inizio settembre) e, nel marzo scorso, la maglia a punti della Tirreno-Adriatico.
Alla vigilia del sesto anno di professionismo, Tonelli diventa il “veterano” con la maglia Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè. Reduce da un tremendo incidente al Tour of Qinghai Lake a fine luglio, che ha messo fine alla sua stagione, il bresciano sta lavorando duramente per essere pronto fin da gennaio.
“Per tre motivi diversi, tutti meritavano il rinnovo di contratto” spiega il team manager Roberto Reverberi. “Albanese ha il potenziale per essere un corridore vincente e, insieme, lavoreremo affinchè il 2020 sia un’opportunità di rilancio. Maestri incarna lo spirito attaccante della nostra squadra e ci aspettiamo conferme. Tonelli, infine, sarà il nostro uomo squadra, un elemento fondamentale per amalgamare un gruppo nuovo”.
L’ORGANICO 2020
Per il 2020, ad Albanese, Maestri e Tonelli si aggiungono i sette corridori che
già erano sotto contratto, ovvero Giovanni Carboni, Luca Covili, Umberto
Orsini, Alessandro Pessot, Francesco Romano, Daniel Savini e Manuel Senni.
Dieci sono invece i nuovi innesti: Marco Benfatto, Iuri Filosi, Giovanni
Lonardi, Matteo Pelucchi, Filippo Zaccanti ed i neoprò Nicolas Dalla Valle,
Filippo Fiorelli, Fabio Mazzucco, Alessandro Monaco e Filippo Zana.
“Volevamo mettere in atto un profondo rinnovamento e siamo convinti di aver costruito una squadra competitiva e attrezzata” aggiunge Reverberi. “Vogliamo che il 2020 sia un anno di rilancio e ricco di soddisfazioni. Abbiamo inserito corridori esperti e vincenti, come Pelucchi e Benfatto, che insieme vantano oltre 40 successi, e un gruppo di atleti solidi con prospettive di crescita. Senza dimenticare coloro che già erano con noi”.
“Nonostante l’età media della squadra si sia leggermente alzata, rimane un gruppo giovane. I cinque neoprò ne sono la testimonianza, oltre ai quattro under 23 Albanese, Covili, Savini e Romano. Il progetto #GreenTeam è e rimane sempre una nostra priorità” conclude Reverberi.
ALBANESE, MAESTRI AND TONELLI RENEWS WITH BARDIANI-CSF-FAIZANE’. 2020 ROSTER IS COMPLETE
Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè has reached an agreement with Vincenzo Albanese, Mirco Maestri and Alessandro Tonelli for the renewal of the contract for next season, closing the 2020 roster to twenty riders.
For Albanese next season will be the fourth with the #GreenTeam. Although still young (23 years in November), he already boasts an appearance at Giro d’Italia and a wealth of experience enviable for his age.
For Maestri will be the fifth year with the Reverberi family, to whom he has presented three victories (stage and final classification at Tour of Rhodes in 2018 plus a stage at Tour of China in early September) and, last March, the points jersey at Tirreno-Adriatico.
On the eve of the sixth year as professional, Tonelli becomes the “veteran” of Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè. After a terrible crash at Tour of Qinghai Lake at the end of July, which ended his season, he is working hard to be ready since January.
“For three different reasons everyone deserved the contract renewal,” explains team manager Roberto Reverberi. “Albanese has the potential to be a winning rider and together we will work to make 2020 an opportunity for a relaunch. Maestri embodies the forward spirit of our team and we expect confirmation. Tonelli will be our team man, a fundamental element to amalgamate a new group”.
THE ROSTER FOR 2020 SEASON
In addition to Albanese, Maestri and Tonelli, the 2020 roster will include also the seven riders who were already under contract – Giovanni Carboni, Luca Covili, Umberto Orsini, Alessandro Pessot, Francesco Romano, Daniel Savini and Manuel Senni. At the end the tenth new signings – Marco Benfatto, Iuri Filosi, Giovanni Lonardi, Matteo Pelucchi, Filippo Zaccanti and the neo-professionals Nicolas Dalla Valle, Filippo Fiorelli, Fabio Mazzucco, Alessandro Monaco and Filippo Zana.
“We wanted to carry out a deep renewal and we are convinced that we have built a competitive and well equipped team” adds Reverberi. “We want 2020 to be a year of relaunching and full of satisfaction. We have included experienced and winning riders, such as Pelucchi and Benfatto, who together boast over 40 successes, and a group of solid athletes with growth prospects. Without forgetting those who were already with us.”
“Although the average age of the team has risen slightly, it remains a young group. The five neo-professionals are an evidence, in addition to the four U23 Albanese, Covili, Savini and Romano. The #GreenTeam project is and always remains our priority” concludes Reverberi.
