SIDI SPORT PROTAGONISTA FINO IN FONDO A LA VUELTA

 Dovevano essere i protagonisti del Tour de France e invece hanno dato spettacolo sulle strade della Vuelta Espana.

 

Loro sono Alberto Contador e il nostro Chris Froome entrambi usciti ko troppo presto dal Tour. Onore allo spagnolo che alla fine l’ha spuntata vincendo sulle strade di casa, ma i complimenti vanno anche al campione della scuderia Sidi Sport Chris Froome che dopo le sfortune del Tour de France ha saputo recuperare e tornare alla grande lottando, tanto a cronometro quanto sulle grandi salite, fino alla fine per la conquista de “la roja”. Ai piedi di Chris Froome, re della Grande Boucle 2013, come sempre ci sono state le calzature Sidi Wire, il top di gamma della collezione firmata Sidi Sport, nella versione bianco-azzurro coordinate ai colori della maglia del Team Sky.

I corridori della scuderia Sidi Sport sono stati tra gli attori principali de La Vuelta 2014. Guardando la classifica finale troviamo 4 atleti Sidi nella Top10. Oltre a Chris Froome (Sky) secondo a 1’10” ci sono infatti Purito Rodriguez (Katusha) quarto, il campione olimpico di Pechino 2008 Samuel Sanchez (Bmc) sesto e Damiano Caruso (Cannondale) nono.

Le vittorie di tappa firmate Sidi sono state sei, tutte di prestigio: doppietta per il francese Nacer Bouhanni (Fdj) primo in volata nella 2a tappa a San Fernando e nell’8a tappa ad Albacete. Bravissimo l’italiano Alessandro De Marchi (Cannondale) primo in solitaria al termine di una bella azione ad Alcaudete. Il campione del mondo Tony Martin (Omega Pharma) come da copione ha dominato la cronometro di Borja. E infine le due stupende vittorie in salita sulle grandi montagne ottenute dal team Lampre-Merida con il colombiano Winner Anacona, a Valdelinares, e con il polacco Przemyslav Niemiec ai Lagos de Covadonga.

Ora lo sguardo è tutto rivolto all’appuntamento mondiale di Ponferrada, sempre sulle strade della Spagna, e con questi campioni non si può far altro che sognare in grande.

 

SIDI SPORT A MAJOR PLAYER UP TO THE VERY END OF THE VUELTA

4 riders in the Top10 and 6 fantastic stage victories

 

They were supposed to be the stars of the Tour de France but instead they put on a show on the roads of the Vuelta España.

 

They are Alberto Contador and our very own Chris Froome, both of whom had been knocked out from the Tour early on. Honours went to the Spaniard, who came out ahead to win on the roads of his home country, but congratulations also go the champion from the Sidi Sport stables Chris Froome, who, after his misfortunes at the Tour de France, was able to bounce back and make a tremendous comeback, battling it out as hard in the time trials as he did on the major climbs, all the way to the end of the quest to capture “la roja”. As always, Chris Froome, king of the 2013 Grande Boucle, was wearing Sidi Wire shoes in a white-blue version to match the colours of his Team Sky jersey.

Other riders from the Sidi Sport stables were also among the brightest stars in 2014’s La Vuelta. In the final classification we find 4 Sidi athletes in the Top10. In addition to Chris Froome (Sky), who was second at 1’10” , in fact there is Purito Rodriguez (Katusha) fourth, 2008 Beijing Olympic champion Samuel Sanchez (Bmc) sixth, and Damiano Caruso (Cannondale) ninth.

All in all Sidi scored six stage victories, all of them prestigious: Frenchman Nacer Bouhanni (Fdj) scored a double, with a first place in the final sprint for the 2nd stage in San Fernando and in the 8th stage in Albacete. Italian Alessandro De Marchi (Cannondale) also did brilliantly, coming in a solitary first at the end of a nice move in Alcaudete. TT World Champion Tony Martin (Omega Pharma) followed the script and dominated the time trial in Borja. And finally, there are the two stupendous climbing victories obtained by team Lampre-Merida on the great mountains, with Colombian Winner Anacona in Valdelinares and with Poland’s Przemyslav Niemiec at Lagos de Covadonga.

Now all eyes are on the prize for the upcoming World Championships in Ponferrada, on the roads of Spain as well, and with these champions the only thing to do is keep dreaming big.
