THE FIXING CHALLENGE TO BE SHOWN ON BBC2

An inspirational documentary, featuring four people whose lives were transformed by taking on the challenge of preparing for the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, will be broadcast on BBC 2 at 23:30 on Tuesday 29 September (and available to view afterwards on BBC iPlayer).

Director Anthony Whitington said: “The Fixing Challenge is a follow-up to Fixing Dad, a documentary in which two sons set out to reverse their dad’s (Geoff) type 2 diabetes and succeeded, not only in saving Geoff’s life, but also getting him into his best shape ever and culminating with him cycling the daunting Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 mile event.

“Since then thousands of people, with a range of conditions, have reached out to us seeking help for themselves and their loved ones. The family were up for the challenge but could the participants follow in Geoff’s tracks? Could they too complete Prudential RideLondon’s gruelling 100-mile ride?

“The Fixing Challenge follows the journeys of four challengers, with only six months to improve their health. They each have a history of chronic conditions including diabetes, obesity, cancer and depression and together embark on a remarkable journey that sees them take control of their lives. But could they finish the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 too? With moments of humour, sadness, grit and inspiration, The Fixing Challenge demonstrates the power of setting a big goal, and reminds us that we can all take control of our health with support and perseverance.”
