SIBIU TOUR. LA VINI ZABÙ – KTM PIAZZA LUCA WACKERMANN IN TOP 5 A BALEA LAC

Comincia bene il Sibiu Cycling Tour per la Vini Zabù – KTM che piazza Luca Wackermann al 5° posto della 1^ frazione in linea con arrivo in quota ai 2029 metri di Balea Lac.

Wackermann era stato tra i pochi corridori capaci di seguire il forcing portato all’inizio della lunga ascesa finale dai corridori della Bora – Hansgrohe che avevano sgretolato il gruppo dopo aver ripreso la fuga di Slik, Bernas, Ferronato, Meucci, Thiebaud e Sykala il cui vantaggio massimo era stato di 6’30”.

A 8 km dall’arrivo rimanevano in testa alla corsa Konrad, Muhlberger, Rochas e Badilatti con la coppia Bora – Hansgrohe che faceva la differenza andando a conquistare il primo e il secondo posto.

Wackermann chiudeva a 1’41” risalendo anche in classifica generale in quinta posizione a 2’40” da Konrad. Nella top 20 di giornata presente anche Manuel Bongiorno, 18° a 6’03”.

Domani cambio di scenario con la 2^ tappa che partirà e arriverà a Sibiu e con probabili protagonisti i velocisti

SIBIU TOUR: TOP 5 FOR LUCA WACKERMANN IN BALEA LAC

A good start of Sibiu Cycling Tour for the team Vini Zabù – KTM that achieves a 5th place in the 1st stage with uphill finish in Balea Lac with Luca Wackermann.

The milanese rider was one of the few riders who were able to follow the fast pace of the team Bora – Hansgrohe that destoyed the main peloton since the bottom of the 27 kms final climb chasing the early breakaway of Slik, Bernas, Ferronato, Meucci, Thiebaud and Sykala who reached a maximum gap of 6’30”.

With 8 kms to go Wackermann lost ground from the four leaders Konrad, Muhlberger, Rochas and Badilatti and the couple of Bora – Hansgrohe riders made the difference achieving an historical double on the finish line.

Wackermann ended 1’41” behind them and after this great performance he now sits in 5th place of the general classification 2’40” away from Konrad. Also Manuel Bongiorno ended in today’s top 20 as he was 18th at 6’03”.

Tomorrow the 2nd stage with start and finish in Sibiu that suits the sprinters
