LAMPRE-MERIDA

La LAMPRE-MERIDA annuncia di aver trovato l’accordo per il prolungamento contrattuale fino al termine della stagione 2017 di Przemyslaw Niemiec (foto Bettini).

 

Le qualità di scalatore e di corridore capace di gestirsi nei grandi giri e l’esperienza maturata in 14 stagioni da professionista, della quali 5 disputate nel World Tour con i colori blu-fucsia e verdi, rendono Niemiec (scheda corridore qui) un atleta perfetto per accompagnare la crescita dei giovani talenti che arricchiscono l’organico della LAMPRE-MERIDA.

Inoltre, il trentacinquenne polacco potrà continuare ad avere i necessari spazi per poter coltivare le proprie ambizioni personali.

 

Il team manager Brent Copeland ha spiegato le ragioni che hanno portato alla decisione di proporre a Niemiec di legare il suo futuro alla LAMPRE-MERIDA almeno fino al termine della stagione 2017: “Ci sono pochi corridori che sanno unire l’esperienza e le qualità di scalatore come Niemiec.

Przemyslaw è un professionista perfetto, ha saputo effettuare un percorso di crescita fantastico e ora è pronto per consentire ai corridori più giovani di trarre vantaggio dalle sue qualità.

Il prolungamento del suo contratto con la LAMPRE-MERIDA va letto anche in questa chiave: oltre a continuare ad avere i propri spazi, Niemiec sarà un punto di riferimento fondamentale per i giovani corridori che vestiranno i colori blu-fucsia-verdi nelle prossime stagioni, sarà un esempio da seguire e dal quale prendere ispirazione.

Lo staff tecnico della squadra si riunirà a breve per pianificare la programmazione delle gare del 2016, sapendo di poter contare sul valore aggiunto rappresentato da Przemyslaw”.

 

“Tenendo conto del fatto che l’ultima stagione non è stata tra le mie migliori, il prolungamento del contratto mi rende davvero felice. E’ un chiaro segnale della fiducia del Team LAMPRE-MERIDA nei miei confronti, vorrei ripagare tale gratitudine con i risultati – ha spiegato Niemiec – Mi piacerebbe tornare a lottare per raggiungere successi personali, so di essere all’altezza di questo obiettivo. In più, mi fa grande piacere che la squadra mi assegni il gradevole compito di supportare in corsa e fuori corsa i miei compagni, specialmente i tanti giovani di talento.

 

E’ per me importante essere consapevole che la LAMPRE-MERIDA, squadra che mi ha dato nei cinque anni passati tutto il miglior supporto, sia soddisfatta per la mia presenza nell’organico del team, la dirigenza sa che nell’ultima stagione ho dovuto fare in conti con la poca fortuna. Già a dicembre, assieme ai direttori sportivi, delineeremo una prima bozza del mio programma di gare per la prossima stagione, mi piacerebbe fissare il Giro d’Italia come appuntamento principale della prima parte dell’annata.

 

Ho grandi motivazioni, voglio arrivare pronto ai primi appuntamenti stagionali, per questo motivo sto lavorando nella pausa invernale: ogni giorno faccio esercizi per tenere tonici i muscoli delle gambe, tra circa due settimane riprenderò le uscite con la mia bici Merida ed è bello poterlo fare sapendo di aver già fissato le priorità per il futuro e di avere determinate certezze”.

The climbing skills of the Polish cyclist and his talent a rider for the great tours, in addition to the experience he gained in 14 years as pro cyclist, 5 of which in the World Tour wearing the blue-fuchsia and green jersey, contribute to make Niemiec (his biography here) a perfect rider for leading the young talented riders of the team in their improvement.

 

Brent Copeland, team manager from LAMPRE-MERIDA, explained why Niemiec received the proposal for linking his future to the team at least until the end of the 2017 season: “There are not many cyclists who can sum up experience and climbing qualities as Niemiec.

Przemyslaw is an exemplar cyclist, his improvement to a top level of cycling skills has been impressive and he’s now ready to allow young guns to exploit his support and his teaching.

We decided to extend his contract mainly because, in addition to the usual opportunities to race for trying to achieve personal results, he’ll be a lead person for the bunch of young riders in our roster.

The team’s sport directors will soon set the basis of the 2016 program of races and they’ll have the opportunity to rely on Niemiec as extra value”.

 

“Bearing in mind that the last season wasn’t the best, I appreciate the fact that the contract has been extended. It’s a clear sign that Team LAMPRE-MERIDA has a lot of trust in me. I want to show my gratitude through good performances – Niemiec said – I’m intent to achieve good results next season and I know I can fight for individual success. At the same time I don’t forget about the support on the route and beyond it which I can provide to my team mates, especially to many young riders.

 

It’s important for me that Team LAMPRE-MERIDA is satisfied with me. The management is aware that I had a lot of bad luck last season. For five years I’ve had all I need in this team and I feel very happy to be a part of it. In December, together with the sport directors, I will set the first draft of my racing schedule for next year. I would like Giro d’Italia to be my main racing goal for the first half of the season.

 

I train hard every day to strengthen my leg muscles. In about two weeks’ time I’m gonna start training on the bike. I want to be fit and well prepared for the next season, my motivation to ride at high level is very big. I’ve had a good rest after last season, I don’t have to worry about my future and I can focus on riding the best I can the next season”.
